7 Churches of Revelation Driver Guide Tour

This tour package will give you opportunity to explore the locations of the Seven churches of Revelation. The modern country of Turkey is home to all seven of the churches mentioned in the opening chapters of Revelation. Additionally, you will visit Pamukkale located on your route which is listed in the World Heritage List. You will drive through a panaromic scenerey and visit local towns during the trip. 


Day 1: Ephesus Tour: You will be picked up from your hotel at around 05:00 to be transferred to Ataturk Airport to take 07:30 flight to Izmir. Upon your arrival at around 08:30, you will be greeted by your driver/guide and you will drive to Ephesus, the most splendid ancient city in Turkey and requires about 2 hours to visit. The next visit is to Virgin Mary's House, where She is believed to have spent the last years of her life and buried. After lunch, you will visit the remaining important places to see in the area: Ephesus Museum where the objects discovered in Ephesus are exhibited, Artemis (Diana) Temple which was one of the 7 wonders of ancient world, St. John Castle and the remains of Church situated at the top of Ayasoluk Hill. After the tour, you will drive to Kusadasi, where you will stay overnight. Accommodation in Kusadasi. (breakfast and lunch included)


Day 2: Laodicea & Hierapolis & Pamukkale Tour: You will depart from your hotel at around 08:30, and drive to Laodicea which was one of the 7 Churches of Revulution. The site has been recently excavated and revealed a splendid, rich city that is now being reconstructed and in some places rebuilt with new marblework to show the importance of Biblical Laodicea. Then after a short drive, you will arrive at Pamukkale, famous with white colored rocks formed by thermal waters containing calcium bicarbonate. The ancient city Hierapolis at site was a famous healing center and the hotels are site still preferred for thermal water pools in present day. Also, you The Roman Pool at site is one of the highlights of the site (entrance is 35 TL per person extra self-payment - have your towels and swimsuits if you wish to swim in the pools). After the tour, your guide will drop you off at your hotel. Accommodation in Pamukkale. (breakfast & dinner at hotel, lunch on the tour)


Day 3: Philadelphia & Sardis & Thyateira: After breakfast, you will drive to Philadelphia another stop of St. Paul on his mission to Asia Minor. The next visit is to Sardis, the capital city of Lydia. The Kingdom is popular for being the first monarch to mint coinage. The city also was housing a large Jewish comunity and today it preserves remains of one of oldest synagogues in Asia Minor. After about 1 hour drive, we will reach to Akhisar and to visit the remains of the church of Thyatira. At the end of the day, you will reach Bergama, where you will stay overnight. Accommodation in Bergama. (breakfast at hotel, lunch on the tour)


Day 4: Pergamum & Smyrna: You will visit Pergamum once the ancient world´s major power and center of learning and the arts. Visit the ancient Library, once held 200.000 books, Temple of Athena, Temple of Trajan, Altar of Zeus and the Gymnasium situated on terraces and the lower Agora. Asclepion, the ancient hospital, which was the work site of the great physician Galen. The morning part of the tour will end with a visit to Red Basilica, dating to the 2nd century. It was constructed by the Egyptian colony in Pergamon for gods Serapis, Isisand Harpocrates. Drive to Smyrna, the final ancient city of 7 Churches of Revelation on our tour. After the tour, your guide will drop you off at Izmir Airport to take 19:30 flight to Istanbul. Upon your arrival at around 20:30, you will be greeted by one of our colleagues and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation in Istanbul. End of services. (breakfast at hotel, lunch on the tour)
