Gallipoli National Park is the great significance in the world military history being the soil on which the battles of the Gallipoli Campaign took place, contains Turkish and Allied monuments, cemeteries and museums surrounded by forests.

Troy, best known for being the setting of the Trojan War described in the Greek Epic Cycle and especially in the Iliad, one of the two epic poems attributed to Homer. Metrical evidence from the Iliad and the Odyssey seems to show that the name Ilion formerly began with a digamma Wilion. This was later supported by the Hittite form Wilusa.

Pergamon, reached the height of its influence during the Hellenistic period becoming the capital of the Attalid kings and the Pergamon Empire from the 3rd to 2nd century BCE and in the Roman period it was the first capital of the Asian province until this was moved to local rival Ephesus.
